A new phone app designed by researchers at the University of California, Berkeley, may be able to warn users of an impending earthquake here in West Tennessee.
Current earthquake apps on the market use data from the U.S. Geological Survey but only serve to show where earthquakes have already happened. THIS app is designed to work with smart phones equipped with accelerometers, and can be used to detect earthquakes in the early stages of their beginning! Researchers claim a 93% success rate. MyShake is the name of the app and is currently available for android phones only. Watch the video below to see how it works.
